Finasteride and Spironolactone

Unless a genetic male has been castrated, then from puberty onwards the male body will produce, and flood the system with, male androgens.

Androgens are the hormones that cause the development and maintenance of male characteristics including beard growth, body hair, deeper voice, sex drive etc.

If you are intent on taking female hormones to feminize your body then the task for these is made much easier if they do not have to fight against your male androgens.

Taking anti-androgens is advantageous as it lowers your body's resistance to female hormones and effectively speeds up the process of feminization.

We recommend taking Finasteride (in the form of Propecia) which is a modern anti-androgen and does not carry the risks associated with some older style drugs. Taken in conjunction with Spironolactone, it is a very effective and safe treatment.
