Prozac
What is Prozac?Prozac was the first legalised true lifestyle drug ever developed. Used inititially to treat clinical depression, its use mushroomed first of all in the United States and then Europe, when both doctors and patients discovered that it made people feel a lot better about life in general, that many of their other symptoms such as stress, backache, headaches, lethargy etc miraculously disappeared along with their depression. The fact that Prozac also causes weight loss as a side effect is an added benefit. Is Prozac Safe? While Prozac is safe to take if you are an adult in relatively good general physical health, it should never be taken by any female at risk of pregnancy or who is breast feeding, anyone with liver or kidney disease, anyone who suffers from epilepsy or diabetes, or anyone who is taking MAOI-based prescription medicines. You must not take Prozac within 6 months of stopping MAOI medication and vice versa. If you are in any doubt consult your personal physician. Prozac Side EffectsIn common with all medication, Prozac can have a number of side effects to the nervous and digestive system. These should be mild and will disappear after a few weeks. If you develop severe side effects or a skin rash stop taking Prozac immediately and consult your physician.
