Prozac Side Effects
Prozac is in general a safe drug, although it must not be taken in conjunction with, or soon after, MAO inhibitor drugs such as Nardil or Parnate. Some side effects have been reported with Prozac - should any symptoms occur, please consult your physician as soon as possible, who will advise you whether or not it is safe to continue with Prozac treatment. Reported Prozac side effects include:Sleep disruption (including strange dreams), anxiety, tremors, abnormal vision, loss of appetite, tiredness, dry mouth and loss of or diminished sex drive. Less common side effects such as loss of memory, confusion or emotional instability have been reported in rare cases - should any unusual symptoms occur, please see your doctor. Who Shouldn't Take Prozac?Prozac should not be taken by those with diabetes, liver disease or recent heart problems without a full physical consultation with your doctor, and seek advice before combining Prozac with any other medication. It is not recommended that pregnant or breast feeding women use Prozac. Prozac OverdoseAn overdose of Prozac can be fatal. If an overdose is suspected, seek medical help immediately. Symptoms of Prozac overdose include: Nausea, rapid heart rate, seizures or fits, excessive drowsiness and vomiting. |
